- Questions in plain EnglishLive weather reports from NAV Canada

Situation
The situation
A general language model answers aviation questions from memory. It does not know today's weather at a given airport.
The build
What I built
I connected the assistant to NAV Canada's weather reports. Ask about an airport and it returns the current observation and forecast. It answers general questions in the same conversation.
In use
What it does
- The assistant answers weather questions from the current report, not from memory.
- It answers general aviation questions in the same conversation.
- Follow-up questions keep the context of the earlier ones.
In detail
A closer look at the problem and how the build works.
The situation
A language model can explain aviation concepts, but it answers from what it learned in training. It cannot know the weather at an airport right now.
What I built
I built a chat assistant and connected it to NAV Canada's weather reports.
How it works
- A pilot asks about the weather at an airport.
- The assistant fetches the current observation and forecast for that airport.
- It explains the report in plain language.
- It answers general questions in the same conversation, and follow-ups keep the earlier context.
